Apps on the iPhone and iPad Home Screen.

Want to open your 1kApps tool from an icon on iPhone or iPad? \*\*In Safari, add the app to your Home Screen.\*\* There is no need to find it in the App Store. Installation is optional: these cross-platform apps also work directly on the web.

We will use five steps. Step 2 shows exactly \*\*where to tap in the address bar to open the menu, then Share inside it\*\*. The illustrations enlarge the controls so you can recognize them. First open the tool in Safari; the menu we use belongs to the browser.

## 1. Open the app you want to install in Safari

Visit the \[1kApps catalog\](https://1kapps.com/en), choose a tool and tap \*\*Open on the web\*\*. You should see the app’s interface, with its fields and buttons. For \[Text Studio\](https://1kapps.com/en/app/text-studio), the actual address is https://1kapps.com/apps/1/.

If you opened it in WhatsApp, Instagram, Chrome or another app, copy that actual address, open \*\*Safari\*\*, paste it into the address bar and go. Do not copy this article’s address or the product page. Wait for the tool to finish loading before continuing.

## 2. Tap the three-line button in the address bar, then Share

\*\*2A — Open the page menu.\*\* With the app open in Safari, look at the \*\*left end of the address bar\*\*. Tap the icon with \*\*three horizontal lines, the third one shorter\*\*, highlighted in the illustration. This button opens Safari’s menu. If the bar has collapsed, tap the address area to reveal the controls before tapping this icon.

\*\*2B — In the menu that opens, tap Share.\*\* Identify the item by its icon: \*\*an open-top square with an arrow pointing upward out of it\*\*, highlighted in the illustration. This opens the share sheet used in the next step.

![Step 2: tap the three-line icon to the left of the address (2A); in the open menu, tap Share, identified by the square with an upward arrow (2B).](https://1kapps.com/uploads/articles/104/images/efea722ca0d9eea895bc96282a3eeb7b.webp)

The illustrations show this route through the address bar. If your Safari uses another layout and already shows the square-with-upward-arrow icon directly in its toolbar, tap it to open the same share sheet. Do not confuse Safari’s three-line button with a menu inside the app.

## 3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen

Safari will open the share sheet. \*\*Scroll down through the actions\*\*, past contacts and other apps, to find \*\*Add to Home Screen\*\*. Tap that action. Copy, Favorites and Reading List serve different purposes.

## 4. Check the name and confirm

In the confirmation, check the tool’s name and icon. If \*\*Open as Web App\*\* appears, leave it enabled. Then tap \*\*Add\*\*. Older versions may not show that switch; follow the confirmation your device offers.

## 5. Open the app from its new icon

Return to the Home Screen and find the icon. Tap it to open the tool. Swipe between pages or search your device for its name if necessary. The installed app can open in its own window without Safari’s usual browser bar.

If the icon opens this article or the product page, you added the wrong page. Return to step 1 and add the tool open at its /apps/ address. Do not clear browser data to fix a shortcut.

## What changes on iPad?

On iPad with Safari’s full toolbar, \*\*Share is in the upper-right corner of the window\*\*, to the right of the address field: it is the \*\*square with an upward arrow\*\* highlighted below. Tap it with the app open. If your layout groups commands in the address-bar menu, first tap its three-line button, then the same Share icon, as in step 2. Continue with \*\*Add to Home Screen → Open as Web App\*\*, if offered, \*\*→ Add\*\*. Expand More or Show More if it appears in the sheet. Add the icon separately on each device; this does not automatically sync your data.

## Can’t find Add to Home Screen?

Check that you are actually in Safari with the tool open, and scroll through the entire action list. On iPhone, if the option is still missing, look for \*\*Edit Actions\*\* at the bottom and add \*\*Add to Home Screen\*\* where that setting is available. Company or school devices may restrict changes. If your menu differs, consult Apple’s official guides for \[iPhone\](https://support.apple.com/guide/iphone/iphea86e5236/ios) and \[iPad\](https://support.apple.com/guide/ipad/ipad8f1f7a29/ipados).

## Will installing upload my texts and files?

Installation loads the files the app needs to run. Local-processing features handle your texts and files on the device, without sending them to 1kApps for processing. Installing does not create a cloud backup or guarantee that work already open in Safari appears in the installed version. Save or download anything you want to keep before switching contexts. Online features still need a connection; offline use depends on the tool and the resources already available on your device.
